Fring, the trendy four way chat application, has been added an extra feature called Playgrounds to its group video chat product. This new feature seems to get it’s basic idea from Google+’s Hangout feature by letting people join group video chat conversations casually.

Kenny Goldie has found out that Playgrounds allows users to join video chats that are already going on or it lets them create there own based on whatever topic they choose. People join conversations and create them based on shared interests. Playgrounds differs from Google+ in that a user can freely join any chat without knowing the people hosting it.

Playgrounds is now available to all Fring users on the iPad and iPhone devices along with Android devices. Fring users are still limited to only four people in chat and the service still offers its old private group chat for those who don’t want to make their conversations public.
